Marilynn Jean Atkins, 88, of Las Vegas Nevada passed at home on Sunday October 19, 2025 with her family at her side.
Marilynn was born at Rice Hospital in Los Angeles California on Monday February 8, 1937. Her mother was Verla Claire Casteel and her father was King W. Holt.
With her mother and grandmother, Merle Casteel, Marilynn moved to Boulder City Nevada in 1942 where she attended elementary, middle and high school.
Marilynn married John Calvin Williamson June 1, 1952 at the historic Little Church of the West in Las Vegas Nevada.
On February 13, 1987 in Kauai Hawaii Honolulu she married Stuart (Tom) Anderson Atkins. Whom she loved and lived with until his passing on April 29, 2004.
Marilynn loved modeling and dancing. Her first big job was modeling and managing Johnsons Dress Shop in downtown Las Vegas during the 1950s. In 1965 she worked at the Top of the Mint. The Mint was the tallest building in the State at the time. During the 1970s she managed the bar at the Village Pub. Later she co-owned and managed an executive aviation brokerage company and a cratering business.
Marilynn loved dancing and won many dance contests. She had an adventurous nature that led her to learn to fly, hang-glide, paraglide, ski, dive and surf. She spent her free time boating on Lake Mead or white water rafting in the mountains of North America. Marilynn's favorite activities were her annual trips to sunny beach locations like Belize, Mexico, Costa Rica, Fiji, French Polynesia, Hawaii, and the Caribbean where she would dive and snorkel or just hang on the beach.
Marilynn was know for always smiling and her penchant to make people laugh.
Marilynn is loved and will be greatly missed by her friends and family. She is survived by her son John Lee Williamson, daughter-in-law Cynthia Williamson and granddaughter Mackenzie Williamson.
