Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Jason Litman, following a brief illness, at the age of 53, on Saturday, February 8. 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mark was born to Theodore and Rita (Cohen) Litman on March 27, 1971, in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He was the younger brother of Samuel Litman and half-brother of Michelle (Biblo) Cutler. He graduated from high school in 1989. He moved with his family to Las Vegas, Nevada in September, 1992.

He graduated from Las Vegas College with an associate's degree in 1997. He later moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he completed his bachelor's degree in elementary education.

His career paths included working as a security guard in Las Vegas, Nevada, and working in customer service in various call centers in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Mark enjoyed music, particularly Elvis Presley and Pink Floyd. He loved Lincoln Continental cars, music from the 1970's, and he collected 8-track tapes. He frequently said he was born in the wrong era. He loved the beach, and longed to move somewhere on the east coast to be close to the beach once again. He also loved his family and his cats, Kiki, Floyd (named after Pink Floyd) and Dusty.

Mark converted to Catholicism in 2008. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Salt Lake City, and an active member of the Knights of Columbus in that parish.

Mark moved back to Las Vegas in 2023.

Mark is survived by his mother Rita (Cohen) Litman, half-sister, Michelle (Alan) Cutler, Samuel (Doris) Litman, and two nieces.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Litman (July 31, 2015), and his grandparents.

A private funeral mass will be held for Mark at Holy Spirit Catholic Church and his ashes will be interred at Palm Green Valley Cemetery in Las Vegas, Nevada at a date to be determined at a later time.
