Marvin George Stewart, age 61, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on August 9, 2025. Born on June 9, 1964, in Happy Camp, California, Marvin lived a full and vibrant life defined by devotion to his family, passion for sports, and a long, successful career.
He was the beloved son of the late Gerald Arnold Stewart and Arlene Bernice (Orcutt) Stewart. Marvin grew up in Sweet Home, Oregon, where he graduated from Sweet Home High School. A talented athlete, he was a standout on the track team, which resulted in a scholarship to Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, where he earned his bachelor's degree.
Marvin built a diverse and accomplished professional life, managing multiple Foot Locker locations before moving into the technology sector with Micron PC. He later dedicated over two decades to Sears Home Improvement, eventually serving as General Manager.
On April 23, 2016, Marvin married the love of his life, Annette Kristine Hronik, in Henderson, Nevada. Together they shared a home in Henderson filled with laughter, love, and the companionship of their cherished dog, Lido.
Marvin was known for his passion for golf. He and Annette enjoyed playing nearly every Sunday, year-round, at many of the local Las Vegas courses. Whenever they were vacationing, they would seek challenging new courses at each destination.
He found joy in the outdoors and in the camaraderie that came from sharing shooting, hunting, and archery adventures with friends and family. Frequently, when Annette was training for running events, Marvin would ride his bicycle alongside, as her nearly constant companion and supporter. Marvin demonstrated his continuing athletic abilities by completing a marathon, without prior training, as a group social activity.
The Stewarts enjoyed entertaining friends and family. He loved to cook and grill - and always loved it when someone would say, "That is the best hamburger I've ever had."
Marvin enjoyed spending time with his son and daughter; and took pride in following their career accomplishments. He was very proud of his Karuk Indian heritage and was close to his brothers and sisters. He and Annette frequently spent Thanksgiving with them.
He is survived by his loving wife, Annette Kristine Stewart of Henderson, Nevada; his children, Haley Holcomb of Chicago, Illinois and Connor Stewart of Austin, Texas; his siblings: Nick Stewart (Janell), Sheldon Stewart (Lori, deceased), Jerianne Whitacre (Todd), Sheila Nelsen (Mark), Jeffery Stewart (Sara), Phil Stewart, and Charles Stewart (Amy); and his half-siblings, Mitcheal Stewart (Andrea), and Julie Long (Andrew). He is preceded in death by his parents and half-brother, Edwin Bagley.
Marvin will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and enduring commitment to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
