It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael A. Colello, Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who peacefully left us on November 22, 2024, at the age of 85 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Middletown, NY to Achillia (Michael) and Adeline (Nellie) Colello, Michael spent 45 years as a resident of Las Vegas, NV.
Throughout his career, Michael was a respected Assistant Casino Manager, known for his warmth, humor, and remarkable storytelling that brightened the lives of all who knew him. An avid golfer with five holes-in-one to his name, Michael also had a deep passion for running, completing his first marathon at the age of 54. Above all, Michael treasured the time spent with his family, who were the center of his world. Michael is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Barbara; his children Michael Colello, Jr., Felicia Mitchell, and Mia Digirolamo; as well as seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Las Vegas on Saturday, January 18, 2025. He will be laid to rest at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Middletown, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Michael's memory.
