Obituary

Mildred Williams Wright was born December 11, 1941, in Turrell, Arkansas to the union of Elbert and Marie Williams. She was the 8th child of 12 children. Mildred attended Willaim R. Golden School in Turrell Arkansas. She later received her GED in Fresno California. Her parents Elbert and Marie Williams, two sisters OllaMae Dixon and Ernestine Dixon, five brothers - Andrew Williams, Johnny Lee Williams, Albert Williams, Jimmy Lee Williams, and Granddaughter Elizabeth Reynolds preceded her in death. In 1957, Mildred Married James Johnson and to this union a daughter was born Barbara Nell Johnson (Wilson). On November 14, 1961, Mildred married Johnny Wright, the love of her life and moved to California. To this union three children were born - Lynn Michelle, Johnny and Keith Ray. Mildred spent her early years employed at Dennys as a waitress and then later at Fresno Community Hospital as a food service worker. She was forced into early retirement when she was involved in a car accident. Mildred volunteered in the Foster-Grandparent program at Yokomi Elementary School from 2015-2018. She so loved working with the children. The staff at Yokomi Elementary have very fond memories of Mildred and her contagious humor. In 2018 Mildred sold her home in Fresno California and relocated to Texas to reside with her daughter Lynn and family. We would often call her the "Gypsy lady" because she would travel back and forth from Texas to California. Mildred's motto was to stay long enough for her to get tired of the place she was at and then she'd make another trip to her next destination. In 2023 her oldest daughter Barbara moved to Las Vegas and that was Moms favorite place to be. Casinos were on every corner. Mildred was a spiritual woman she believed in God, the Word of the Lord and attended church regularly. Mildred worshiped in Whitehouse, Texas at Kingdom Seekers International Worship Center, where she was a loved mother by her church family. She loved Bible Study where she could be a part of the conversation. Mildred's deepest passions were Sunday Service, Bible Study, sewing, slot machines and her favorite game, Candy Crush. She played Candy Crush for endless hours. In her younger days she loved to cook and have people over. No matter the situation, Mildred had a good heart. She loved to laugh and loved to listen to music. She hated taking pictures of herself which means the ones we have were collected against her will. On December 27, 2024, Mildred entered into a peaceful sleep as her name was called by the Lord, with her daughter by her side in Vegas. Mildred was well loved by all who knew her. She lived a long life with many accomplishments fulfilled and she will be deeply missed and leaves an unimaginable void. Mildred leaves to cherish her memory, 2 daughters - Barbara Wilson of Henderson Nevada, Lynn Mosley (husband Robert) of Whitehouse, Texas,2 sons, Johnny Wright, Jr. of Fresno, California and Keith Ray Wright (wife Janet) of Meridian, Mississippi.
