At his home with his wife by his side, Darrell Adcock, Sr (84) met his Savior and heard the words he had been longing to hear, 'Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Lord' on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Darrell, more fondly known as Pastor Darrell, was born in Nevada, Missouri, to Bill & Opal Adcock on October 2, 1939. While a student at California Baptist College, he fell in love and married Rita Elizabeth Parker on December 22, 1962. They moved to northern California to attend Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. He spent the majority of his years serving the Lord and His church both in California and through his role at the California Southern Baptist Convention. His sons Darrell Jr, Damon, and Darin have fond memories as Darrell Sr. served as Camp Director at Jenness Park, where thousands of teenagers came to have a week of camp, many surrendering their lives to Jesus. Rita passed away from cancer in January 1987. He eventually moved to Las Vegas, NV, to be with family, and it became a place where he served as Pastor of Redrock Baptist Church and met his wife, Nancy. Darrell had a heart to share the gospel and make His name known. He married Nancy (Morony) Adcock and loved her for 23 years of marriage. One of the first things Nancy admired about Darrell Sr. was that he served God and the church with such energy, enthusiasm, and joy and trusted God completely in his life. He loved long drives and enjoyed the scenery and the people he would meet along the way. Outside of ministry, Darrell was often found in his workshop woodworking, repairing something, or working on various leather projects. Darrell held many titles throughout his life, but the ones he loved the most were husband, Dad, and Grandpa, as he often expressed how thankful he was to have his family. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Morony) Adcock, and his sons Darrell, Jr (Tracy), and Damon (Deborah). He is also survived by his sister, Darlene Linn, brother, Bill Adcock, and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by Darin Adcock (2018) The family will host a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 2 pm at Redrock Baptist Church, 5500 Alta Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89107. In place of flowers, it was Darrell's wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to Redrock Baptist Church.
