It is with profound sadness that the family of Richard Hawkins, age 62, announces his sudden passing on February 18th due to a tragic accident.
Born in Sharon, PA on February 28, 1963 to Ronald and Dorothy Hawkins, Richard was known for his unwavering strength, infectious humor, loving heart
After graduating from Sharpsville High School he felt a deep calling to serve his country.
Richard was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1986 to 1994. He attained the rank of sergeant and was awarded medals for his dedication. He served in Kuwait and Afghanistan for his country. His military training and service instilled in him a discipline and loyalty that defined his character throughout his life.
Following his service, Richard worked as a mechanic and property manager, he was also an avid motorcyclist. He was a beloved brother and friend, always willing to help those in need.
He is survived by his father Ronald Hawkins, brothers Ronald and Robert Hawkins, sisters Karen Dyer and Connie Keryan, daughter Ashley Hawkins and son Logan Hawkins, many nieces and nephews, loving fiance Michelle Miller and many friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Dorothy Hawkins and nephew Klint Dyer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Disabled Veterans in honor of Richard's military service. The family will not be having the memorial service for Richard Hawkins.
