It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Phillip Asmus, Jr. on February 6th, 2025, at the age of 57. Bob was a life time member of the Las Vegas community. He was born October 3rd, 1967 to Robert Phillip Asmus, Sr. and Isolina Asmus.
Growing up Bob or Bobby as his family called him, was very popular with his peers. He was a talented athlete and played pitcher for the local youth baseball league. Bob excelled at any sport he tried BMX, skating and Frisbee golf. As a teenager he worked at the local skating rink and had his own lawn mowing business.
Bob was a kind and sentimental guy. He was very close with his mom, and she adored him. He had many lifelong friends that he stayed in touch with. When he was a young man he spent most of his weekends watching football, having outdoor BBQs, or fishing with his friends and family. He was a huge Eagles fan. He was also a great big brother and protector to his sister Suzette.
Bob is survived by his son Phillip Mills, his sister Suzette Dunlap, brother in law Wallace Dunlap, nephews David Hyatt and Kevin Hyatt, Jessica Dunlap and many lifelong friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Sr. and Isolina Asmus.
A celebration of life will be held at Floyd Lamb Park, 9200 Tule Springs Road, Las Vegas, NV 89131. On Saturday, March 22nd, 2025 from 3pm to 5pm. This will be a casual celebration Eagles attire is welcome to honor Bob's favorite team. After the service we will have a potluck style BBQ, to get together to hang out and celebrate his life as he would have wanted us to.
