Robert Paul “Bob” Comstock, 71, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026, at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, following a brief illness with cancer. His diagnosis came only three weeks before his passing, making his death an unexpected and heartbreaking loss to all who loved him.

Bob was born August 12, 1955, in Carroll, Iowa, to Thomas and Monica Comstock. One of 15 children, he grew up surrounded by a large, close-knit Irish Catholic family. From an early age, Bob learned the importance of faith, family, hard work, and helping others. The loss of his older brother, Tommy, when Bob was 11 remained in his heart throughout his life. We know Tommy was there to help guide his brother home to heaven.

Bob graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School, and his Catholic faith remained a foundation throughout his life. Wherever Bob and his family lived, finding a Catholic church and becoming part of the community was always important to him. His faith inspired him to quietly serve others and do good without ever seeking recognition.

On May 27, 1978, Bob married the love of his life and soulmate, Lori. They shared 48 wonderful years of marriage and raised four children: Robert “BJ,” Ryan, Kyle, and Laura. Their home was always a place of welcome, friendship, laughter, and love.

Bob spent more than 15 years with Enron Corporation, a career that took his family to communities across the country. Despite moving every few years, Bob had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. In 1995, the family settled in Las Vegas, where Bob took over Star Equipment Company. As a small business owner, he built lasting friendships and relationships throughout the Las Vegas Valley. To Bob, business was always about people.

Bob loved being surrounded by others. He enjoyed entertaining, barbecuing, sharing meals, telling stories, laughing with friends, snowmobiling, traveling to the mountains of Utah, RV adventures, and spending time outdoors. He especially loved animals, particularly dogs.

But perhaps his greatest joy was being Papa to his six grandchildren. His grandchildren were among the greatest blessings of his life, and he cherished every moment with them.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Lori; his children, Robert “BJ” Jr. and wife Tarah; Ryan and wife Elizabeth and daughters Lilliana and Addilyn; Kyle and wife Amber and children Remington and Colton; and daughter Laura and husband Dustin and children Emery and Derek. He is also survived by 12 siblings, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and countless friends who loved him dearly.

Bob will be remembered as a faithful and selfless man who quietly helped others without seeking recognition. He gave generously of his time, talents, and heart. He welcomed everyone, made people feel at home, and had a gift for making friends wherever life took him.

His passing came far too soon, leaving an enormous hole in the hearts of his family and friends. His legacy, however, lives on through the love he gave so freely to Lori, his children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

May Bob rest in the loving arms of God, reunited with those who went before him. May all who loved him find comfort in the beautiful memories he leaves behind.

Services are scheduled for Friday October 9, 2026 at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church 6350 N. Fort Apache Rd. Las Vegas, NV 89148. Rosary will begin at 1:00pm with a Memorial Mass at 1:30pm. Burial of his urn to follow.
