In Loving Memory of Ronald R. Izydor

March 7, 1948 – July 4, 2026

Ronald R. Izydor, 78, of Las Vegas, Nevada, peacefully entered eternal rest on July 4, 2026. Born on March 7, 1948, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Ron lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his community, and the countless young people he inspired through athletics.

A proud graduate of South Division High School, Ron continued his education at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee before beginning a distinguished career with the City of Milwaukee, where he faithfully served until his retirement. Beyond his professional life, Ron's true passion was mentoring young people through basketball. He spent many years coaching at South Division High School in Milwaukee before relocating to Las Vegas, where he continued to shape the lives of student-athletes as a basketball coach at several local high schools. Known for his steady leadership, encouraging spirit, and love of the game, Coach Izydor left a lasting impression on generations of players who benefited from his guidance both on and off the court.

On August 23, 1969, Ron married the love of his life, Catherine, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned nearly fifty-seven years. Together they built a loving family grounded in faith, commitment, and unwavering support for one another. Although he endured the heartbreaking loss of his beloved son, Dana Izydor, on February 17, 2004, Ron remained a source of strength and encouragement for those around him.

Ron will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Catherine Izydor; his son, Derek Izydor; his daughter, Nicole Izydor Jagiello and son-in-law, Patrick Jagiello, Sr.; and his cherished grandchildren, Devyn Izydor, Izabella Izydor, Patrick Jagiello, Jr., and Darrien Jagiello. He also leaves behind many extended family members, former players, colleagues, and lifelong friends who were blessed to know him.

Ronald's legacy is one of integrity, perseverance, mentorship, and unconditional love. Whether serving his city, coaching from the sidelines, or spending time with those he loved most, he lived with quiet humility and a generous heart. His influence will continue to be felt in the lives he touched, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and former athletes.
