Rudy Paculba, 78, passed away December 31, 2023 at home surrounded by family in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a resident of Pahoa, Hawaii until December 2022. Rudy was born April 24, 1945 to Anna Navarro and Aquilino Paculba. He later married Teresa Paculba in June of 1981 where he was happily married for 40 years until her passing in 2021. He was a retired truck, driver with Hitco Moving & Storage and a retired Foster Parent with the State of Hawaii. Rudy had a sparkling personality that was hard not to love. He enjoyed the ocean, loved camping, fishing and even laying lobster nets in which he handmade himself. He had a passion for carpentry building furniture and creating new things but his attributes didn't stop there. He could build rock walls, work on cars with the help of his best friend Roy Palma. He was always kind and helpful to anyone in need. Rudy is survived by his late wife, Teresa Paculba of Pahoa, Hawaii; two sons, Preston (Kathleen) Mendoza of Las Vegas, Nevada; Richard Paculba of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Crystal (Henry) Kalahiki of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Taylor-Leigh (Matthew) Hugaboom of Lakeland, Georgia; Preston Mendoza Jr. of Fort Riley, Kansas; Treyson Paculba of Las Vegas, Nevada; Antonio Paculba of Las Vegas, Nevada; Arianna Paculba of Las Vegas, Nevada, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Private services to be held, followed by scattering of ashes at a later date in Hawaii. Rudy Paculba will surely be missed. He had such an impact on so many lives and those around him. May he rest in peace and be reunited in loving arms by those we love that left before him. He never looked for praises He was never was one to boast He just went on quietly working For the ones he loved the most. His dreams were seldom spoken His wants were very few And most of the time he worries were unspoken too. He was always there... A firm foundation Through all our storms of life A sturdy hand to hold on to in times of stress and strife.
