Sandra Lee "Sandy" Kasko, age 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Sandy was born on May 7, 1951, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to James and Helen Kasko. She grew up alongside her siblings, Mark and Deborah, and carried throughout her life a warm spirit, sharp mind, and deep appreciation for learning and friendship.
A proud graduate of Penn State University, Class of 1974, Sandy built a successful career in publishing. She worked for more than 20 years with Lippincott Williams & Wilkins in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she was respected for her professionalism, dedication, and love of books and education.
In 1991, Sandy married the love of her life, Jim Klotz, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Together they shared many happy years filled with laughter, companionship, and adventure.
Sandy found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved reading, enjoyed casual birdwatching, and especially loved swimming. She was also a founding member of the local water aerobics group known as "The Aqua Divas," where she formed many cherished friendships and brought her trademark warmth and humor to those around her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Klotz; her sister and husband, Deborah and Jim Klein; and several loving nieces and nephews, including Bill McCready and Monica Suchy. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Helen Kasko, and her brother, Mark.
Per Sandy's wishes, no formal services will be held. Her family will lay her to rest in Hawaii at a later date.
Sandy will be remembered for her intelligence, kindness, gentle humor, and the joy she brought to the lives of those who knew and loved her.
