Celebrating the beautiful life of Sharon Anderson!
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Gayle Anderson (Schnase) on January 29, 2025 at the age of 90.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother... wonderful aunt, in-law, and great friend to many. She will be missed.
She is preceded in death by her wonderful husband of 68 years. We know they are together and dancing up a storm!
Sharon grew up in Drake and Minot, ND. Sharon and Gary were married in 1954 and lived in Minot for many years. A job move took them to St Cloud, MN in 1969 and then to New Hope, MN in 1971. They retired to Sun City West, AZ in 1992 and were so blessed to be able to enjoy many years of retirement together.
During their retirement years, Sharon enjoyed numerous clubs and activities. She was president of her local PEO chapter. She was actively involved in her quilting and 'Rip & Sew' clubs and donated her time and quilts to numerous local charities. She took up beading - coordinating her handmade jewelry with her impeccable and cheerful wardrobe. Sharon participated in many neighborhood organizations & was a 28 year volunteer at the hospital in the surgery department. Sharon and Gary enjoyed extensive travels as well. They made it a point to visit family whenever they could... and managed to make it to every location the kids moved to!
Sharon's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her son Scott Anderson and wife Karen Osted; grandson Steven Anderson and his wife Carrie Olson; Daughter Shelley Blyth and husband Rik; grandson Kristopher Blyth and wife Lavern and their daughter Bianca, and grandson Alexander Blyth.
Everyone who was invited to their home knows that Sharon kept a revolving photo gallery in their kitchen, and it was a badge of honor to be included. Shortly before her death we made a photo book of all of those favorite memories. Even with her advancing memory decline... the smile on her face and her joy in seeing all of her special memories made it clear that family was her life and love.
One of Sharon's favorite sayings...
"It's not the years in your life that count ... but the life in your years"
We are grateful we had so many wonderful years with her!
