Sheila Irene Barragan (Nee Thompson), age 69, passed November 7, 2023 after a lengthy health battle. She was at home in Las Vegas, NV surrounded by her family. Sheila was born July 29, 1954 in Chicago, IL to parents, Howard Chelsey Thompson and Lois Irene Boadway. Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Tom Thompson (Kim). Sheila is survived by her husband of 46 years Tom Barragan, her 2 children Sherrie VanderVelde and Tim Barragan. son in law Steve VanderVelde, and 2 grandchildren Stephen and Sydney. Brother Butch (Pat), Tim, Step Mother Claire, and half brother Andy (Alicia). Also many nieces and nephews. Sheila spent her childhood and raised her children in Burbank, Il. She always had the dream of moving out west when she retired. She was able to make that happen in 2003 she retired from AT&T after 30 years and moved to Las Vegas, NV. She spent her retired years loving the atmosphere the west had to offer. She enjoyed spending her days with her dog Tiki and taking care of the neighborhood cats. She most of all enjoyed every moment she was able to spend with her children and grandchildren. Thank you for your condolences, there will be no services. She will be interred at a later time.
