Obituary

Sherri Lynn (Macoritto) Miller, born June 7, 1966, passed away suddenly on January 9, 2026. She was only 59 years old.
Sherri's early years were spent with her parents, Walter and Margaret Macoritto, her brother Stephen and sister Christina in Granda Hills, California. The family grew up in the Southern California Valley and Sherri graduated from the University of California Northridge in 1988 with a business degree.
In her younger years, Sherri attended both Catholic School and a school for gifted children as well. Sherri had an amazing memory and was smart as a whip! She was an accomplished piano player and singer having entered college with a Music scholarship. She also was a cheerleader, performed in several plays and volunteered at a senior home while in high school. Her first job was assisting the priests at St John Baptist De La Salle Catholic Church. When she reached the age of 16, she started working in Retail at the Northridge Fashion Mall. She also competed in the Miss Granada Hills competition and walked away with the Congeniality award! Sherri continued working full time through her college years, selling cosmetics.
After College, Sherri worked for Robinson May, Givenchy, and Giorgio. Her expertise was in fragrance buying, and she became really good at it! In 1995, she met her future husband Edward H. Miller IV through a dating club. They were married at the the San Fernando Mission in Mission Hills, CA on May 24, 1997.
In May 1999, Ed and Sherri purchased their first home together in Rancho Santa Margarita. Sherri started a new career working at St John Knits buying high end fashion. In 2001, they welcomed their first child. Less than two years later, Sherri stepped away from her career to raise them. She belonged to the mom's club and put all her energy into raising their child with lots of love and dedication. Sherri published one cookbook with the mom's club with the proceeds going to charity.
In 2006, Sherri moved with her family to Parker, Colorado where Edward took a role in his company's division. Sherri loved the deer and small animals that would visit her all the time at their home. Sherri's passion for any type of animal was fueled by the wildlife that surrounded their home. Sherri published her second cookbook in Colorado again with the proceeds going to charity.
In 2007, Edward took a position with his company's division in Las Vegas, NV. Sherri and Edward built their third home in Henderson, NV. Sherri and Edward attended St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, where they are members. Over the years. Sherri volunteered at St Rose Hospital with Dignity Health (a Catholic sponsored hospital) working both as a helper for patients support and she ran their gift shop for close to three years. Then she volunteered at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church working in their gift shop for over two years. As her child grew up and moved away, Sherri always loved talking to them and hearing about the life they created as a young adult.
Sherri enjoyed cooking and researching new recipes to try on her family. She loved animals and brought many pets into the family home over the years. Sherri loved her family, her parents and everyone she met. She was full of this amazing magical energy that made people feel splendid just by meeting her. She also protected those she loved like a Momma Bear (something she learned from her father)! Sherri loved to sing; and the folks at church referred to her as the Singer or the Voice.
We lost Sherri way before her time, but her spirit will live on in all those she touched. We will miss her!

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer (if you desire) that you make a donation in Sherri's name to either of her two favorite animal charities: ASPCA or Wildlife Conservation Society.
