Sherrill Ann Wright, age 85, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born on July 17, 1940, in Rensselaer, Indiana, Sherrill lived a full and meaningful life rooted in love, creativity, and dedication to her family. She was a devoted homemaker who brought beauty and warmth to everything she touched. With a natural talent for sewing, gardening, baking, needlework, and home decorating, Sherrill's creativity shone through in every corner of her life and home. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Richard Wright; her father Floyd Gorley; mother Mary Lakin; stepfather Donald Lakin; and her brother Russell Gorley. Sherrill is survived by her five loving children: Richard K. Wright of Alvin, TX; Michael Wright of Alvin, TX; Lorin Wright (Julie) of Traverse City, MI; Julie Wright (Jim) of Ewing, NJ; and Kara Hill (Darren) of Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and her siblings: Mary Collins (Acie), Donald Lakin (Beverly), Homer Lakin (Theresa), Beth Lakin, and John Lakin (Carol) as well as many other extended family members. At this time, private arrangements will be made by her family. In honor of Sherrill's memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
