Sigrid Ann "Sue" Outland was born on October 10, 1939, in Phoenix, Arizona, to David Crockett Outland and Hazel Valsina Outland. Sue accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as a little girl and often recalled her experience of being filled with the Holy Spirit. Her faith remained a cornerstone of her life, and before her mobility became limited, she could often be found on her knees each morning in prayer.

At the tender age of 16, Sue left home and married, beginning a life centered around family. She became the proud mother of six children: Samuel Mosby Jr., Sharmaine Mosby, Darvin Mosby, Helen Mosby, Ronald Mosby, and Doretha Mosby. Her family was her greatest priority, and she found great joy in caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Sue enjoyed cooking, playing cards and dominoes with family and friends, caring for her houseplants, and watching her favorite talk shows. She worked in various retail settings and was known for her exceptional customer service and warm personality.

Sue took her final breath on the morning of August 26, 2026, and was reunited with her loved ones and, most importantly, her Lord and Savior.

Sue will be remembered for her love of family, generous spirit, faith in God, willingness to help others, wisdom, and laughter. And those who knew her best will never forget her left hook when necessary! She had a way of letting you know when enough was enough.

Sue leaves to cherish her memory her six children; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her sister, Donna F. Harper-Hill; and many extended family members and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David Crockett Outland and Hazel Valsina Outland; her siblings Ruth Henderson, David C. Outland, Donald R. Outland, Nancy Outland, Ben H. Outland, Charles E. Outland, and Dorothy Johnson; and her great-granddaughter, Sharnyce Banks.

Sue will be deeply missed, but her love, faith, laughter, and wisdom will live on through the family she loved so dearly.

And in true Sue fashion, she leaves us with the words she often shared when trials were many and understanding was few:

"Just keep on livin'."
