It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Solferino "Sol" Aquino Ramiro, who left this world peacefully at the age of 82 on October 5th in Las Vegas, Nevada, with his wife and daughters by his side.
Sol was born in Pagsanjan, Laguna, Philippines. A member of Sigma Alpha RHO fraternity, he graduated from Far Eastern University in the Philippines and enjoyed a career in architectural engineering before retiring to enjoy more time with his family. He met his wife, Merly Jayco Ramiro, and they married in 1972. They shared a life together through all of its many colorful chapters for 53 years.
Sol's playful sense of humor and masterful joke-telling brought laughter and levity to any room. He delighted in life's simple joys: traveling, music, dancing, eggplant parmesan with spaghetti, and cheering on his favorite basketball teams. While Sol had many passions, none compared to the love he had for his family. He was a devoted father to Joy Ramiro (Radames Roldan) and Cheryl Adinolfi (Robert), and his greatest pride was reserved for his granddaughters, Olivia and Emily Adinolfi, who brought him immeasurable joy.
He is survived by his devoted wife Merly, daughters Joy (Radames) and Cheryl (Robert), and granddaughters Olivia and Emily. Also surviving him are his brother-in-law Thomas Cambronero, his sister Rosario R. Villanueva (Liberato), niece Shane Cambronero Caterino (Joseph), nephews Mark and Paul Villanueva, grandnephews Mauricio and Marco Caterino, and step-grandkids Taylor, Ricky, and Victoria Roldan.
He was predeceased by his parents, Pedro and Lilia A. Ramiro, his beloved sister Perla R. Cambronero, his cousin Venusto Aquino, Jr., his cherished nephew Scott R. Cambronero, and his pets Champ and Marley that brought him comfort and happiness.
A devout Roman Catholic, Solferino was a dedicated member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Las Vegas.
Solferino's presence will be deeply missed by his family and friends who will always remember his infectious smile, his wit, and the happiness he brought to those fortunate enough to be in his company. His was a life well lived.
A celebration of his life will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Las Vegas. Details for the service will be shared with family and friends.
