Sylvana Tardy
Promoted to Glory
September 12, 1961 — May 16, 2026
Sylvana Tardy was born on September 12, 1961, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Phil and Martha Lovato. She was called home to glory on May 16, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada, surrounded by the love she had so generously given throughout her life.
Sylvana was a devoted member of The Salvation Army church for over 40 years, where her faith was not merely professed but lived. She faithfully served as Secretary of the Home League, pouring her heart into its ministry and fellowship until declining health led her to step away. Her commitment to her church family was a reflection of the deep love she held for God and for others.
She dedicated her professional life to serving others, first as a Special Education Teacher in Colorado, where her patience and compassion made a lasting impact on her students, and later as an Administrative Assistant for the Dining Commons at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). No matter the role, she brought the same warmth and care to everyone around her.
Sylvana was united in marriage to her devoted husband, Thomas Tardy, and together they built a life rich in love and faith spanning 43 years. She was a cherished mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother who found her greatest joy in the moments shared with those she loved. She had a gentle passion for movies, music, scrapbooking, and spending time with family and friends — preserving memories as carefully as she made them. Sylvana was a passionate sports fan who proudly cheered for all of Colorado's teams, but her heart belonged to the Las Vegas Aces, whom she supported as a devoted season ticket holder.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Thomas Tardy; her son, Domonic Tardy, his wife Kelli, and their son Hunter; and her siblings Peggy, Jose, Annette, and Evelyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phil and Martha Lovato, and her siblings Phyllis, Alice, Loretta, and Phil Jr.
