Tom (Tomas) Sandoval, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on April 17, surrounded by family, following a brief illness.
The eldest of two children, Tom was born and raised in Santa Fe, NM, where he attended St. Michael's High School and met his wife of 67 years, Mary Lou. The two lived in New Jersey during Tom's time in the U.S. Coast Guard, but returned to Santa Fe to raise their three children. For 20 years, Tom was a business owner, running Sandoval's Chevron, then Chamisa Automotive, before retiring in 1994 and moving to Las Vegas, NV. In Las Vegas, Tom built deep friendships with his neighbors, golfing twice a week for 25 years. When he wasn't on the links, Tom was reading, watching sports, or tending to his garden.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Sandoval; sister, Frances Sanchez; and son, Andrew "Andy" Sandoval. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Sandoval, son Tom Sandoval (Cynthia), and daughter Barbara Salazar (David), as well as seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
