Obituary

Wendy Sue den Herder

Age 67 passed away 06/03/2026

At Nathan Adelson Hospice in

Las Vegas, N.V.

Wendy was born in Sacramento CA on February 12, 1959, to Donald D. Copley and

Glenna McGee Copley. She had 1 sibling, Jeffery Dean Copley, who preceded her in death on September 26, 2011.

After High School Wendy entered the work force as a waitress and bartender. She had such good organizational and management skills, and outgoing personality that she quickly rose to Management Positions.

Wendy loved Alaska and Hawaii. She spent her summers in Alaska in the Denali National Park and Reserve area; she wintered in Hawaii on the Big Island. She purchased a small acreage on the lava deposits and built a small retreat cabin on it. She loved the beach in Hawaii and on the Oregon coast.

Wendy’s love of people drew many friends. She was surrounded by friends who loved her welcoming and non-judgmental spirit. She also loved flowers and was an exceptional gardener. She loved animals and especially dogs, they brought her so much joy.

Wendy is survived by her son Daniel L. Houston of Salem, grandson Jeffery D. Houston age 27, Braxton Wayne Houston age 3 also of Oregon, and her father Donald D. Copley and Stepmother Dodie Copley of Humboldt, Kansas. Wendy was preceded in death by her mother Glena and her husband Scott den Herder. It was Wendy’s desire that her Urn be shipped to Humboldt Kansas to be interred with her father upon his death.
