Obituary

Wesley Lee Scofield, 87, peacefully departed this life on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on July 2, 1938, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Lester Scofield and Esther Lee Marshall, and was their cherished only child. Wesley was a man of strength, devotion, and quiet perseverance whose life touched generations of family and friends. Raised with strong values and faith, he attended Catholic school from kindergarten through twelfth grade and graduated from Holy Savior Catholic School in Wichita, Kansas. He later continued his education at Lexington University. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a mechanic and was honorably discharged in 1963. After his military service, Wesley dedicated many years of hard work to the meat packing industry as a skilled meat cutter. Wesley's greatest joy in life was family. He met the love of his life, Pearlie Maye, and together they built a beautiful family, welcoming four daughters: Michelle, Rita, LaKetha, and Rhonda. Later in life, he was also blessed with three more daughters: Sharritta, Aletha, and Toni. His love for his children was unwavering, and he carried deep pride for each of them throughout his life. In 1993, Wesley relocated to California, where he made his home for nearly three decades before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2022. Wherever he lived, he left an impression through his wisdom, resilience, humor, and enduring love for those closest to him. Wesley leaves to cherish his memory his beloved daughters Michelle, Rita, LaKetha, Rhonda, Sharritta, Aletha, and Toni; his treasured grandchildren Anton, Shamu, Montush, Hudari, Raheem, Isis, Tanya, Tyrie, Taj, Sukari, Roger, Rodriguez, Anthonetha, Sildesa, Nanna, LaToya, Freddie, Rashena, Sequoia, Larry, Xavier, and Nisha; along with a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Through them, five generations of the Scofield bloodline continue to live on. Wesley was deeply loved beyond words. Even during his illness, he remained surrounded by the care, prayers, and love of his family. His presence, wisdom, and legacy will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
