The family of William (Bill) Stevens is sad to announce that he passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024 surrounded by his daughter Sue Stevens, grandson Alan Kennamer and the wonderful staff at the Nevada State Veterans Home and Nathan Adelson Hospice.

Bill was proceeded in death by his wife of 64 years, Margaret, his daughters Sandra and Sharon, and grandsons Nicholas Piazza and Stephen Krueger. Bill leaves behind his daughter Susan, son Mark, grandchildren Michelle Simon, Alan Kennamer, Karie Nevills, great grandchildren Carly Wagner, Shannon Miller, Haley Reynolds, Allyse Dolas, Travis Markley, and great-great-grandson Maddon Piazza.

Bill was born in Independence Missouri, on 11-3-1924 and was the older brother to Charles. After high school he promptly enlisted in the Marine Corps where he met his wife Margaret, also a Marine Staff Sergeant, and was promptly sent to Japan where he served during World War II as an M.T. Sergeant. He was an Aerial Torpedo Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, and a Rifle expert. After the service he worked for General Telephone in California as a lineman (climbing telephone poles to replace parts) and then as an engineer. During his time with the phone company, he was transferred to Illinois, Connecticut, and Texas. When he retired, they moved to Florida.

Bill enjoyed playing golf and doing stained glass projects. One of his major accomplishments on the golf course was scoring his age at 89 and getting a hole-in-one. During his time in Florida he worked at Okeheelee golf course as a starter and worked security for the area he lived in. He received several accolades for his stained-glass work at the county fair in Texas and also in Florida. He gave away a lot of his creations such as jewelry boxes, wall hangings, sun catchers, lamps and chandeliers. to family and friends who will continue to cherish them.

A memorial service will be held in Lake Worth, Fl. On March 27th at 11:00am. He will be honored and then placed next to his wife, Margaret Stevens.
