She married David Dominguez on July 4, 1971, eloping to Las Vegas. Their marriage spanned 54 years, marked by enduring love and partnership. Yolie was a high school graduate and earned a healthcare administration certificate. Her career included roles in childcare, retail banking, and healthcare administration, notably at The Doctors Clinic in Washington and later at the University Medical Center (UMC) in Las Vegas, where she was respected and loved by colleagues. She retired after 12 years of service with a NPERS pension.
Yolie's hobbies were diverse, shaped by her life as a Navy wife for 20 years. She enjoyed sailing, volleyball, softball, beachcombing, and camping, creating lasting memories with friends and family. Known for her resourcefulness, she often organized communal meals for neighbors during tough times. Her kindness and smile brought people together, and she was famous for her lively parties and sea stories.
A talented singer, Yolie participated in high school and church choirs for many years, continuing even as dementia slowed her abilities. Her faith and love for others were evident in her actions and relationships.
Yolie is survived by her husband David Dominguez, daughter Yvonne Villegas, son Marco Dominguez, cherished grandchildren Gabriel and Zoe Villegas, Drai and Bresa Baker, and great-granddaughter Isabel Alice Rose Davison.
